Above is an old (and poorly done) digital art piece done last year. The piece below is a traditional graphite piece from 4 years ago. Both produced using completely different tools with elements of the same drawing fundamentals present throughout each.

You're really QUITE talented.
Both the digital art and the drawing are incredible. I disagree with you when you say the digital art piece is poorly done. For being a Biology major you are sure very talented with both digital and traditional art work.
Wow, these are great. But of course, every person tends to be his own worst critic. Digital art is such a new medium and so many artists are using it nowadays, just see sites like DeviantART and you will notice this. I personally like digital and traditional art each for different reasons, but I believe a good artist can manipulate many kinds of tools to achieve an outcome, so digital art should be welcomed into the art community instead of met with skepticism. Also, I appreciate the fact that you do realism--most young artists seem to be capable of only anime-style or otherwise heavily stylized art, without having a good foundation in basic proportions and such. Anyway, keep up the nice work!
